莎士比亚为劝南安普顿伯爵早点结婚生子，传宗接代，写了一百多首十四行诗，目的明确，主题单一。

沧桑四十载，玉颜似絮败。

俊美何处寻，年华何处在。

颂扬何所益，贪婪何其耻。

双目已无神，满脸皆是纹。

美得何其所，指童发其声。

这是我后人，传承我基因。

暮年得重生，冷血又重温。

莎士比亚十四行诗Sonnet 2：

When forty winters shall besiege thy brow,

And dig deep trenches in thy bearty's fietd,

Thy youth's proud livery,so gaz'd on now.

Will be a tatter'd weed of sman worth held,

Then being ask'd where all thy beauty lies,

Where all the treasure of thy lusty days;

To say within thine own deep--sunken eyes,

Were an all--eating shame,and thriftless praise.

How much more praise deserv'd thy bearty's use,

If thou couldst answer,this fair child of mine

Shall sum my count,and make my old excuse,

Proving his beauty by succession thine.
